Save the batch file to your preferred location as Rescue.bat. For BIOS systems with MBR disks, change winload.efi to winload.exe in the line shown in green. Notice that the preceding batch file is for UEFI systems with GPT formatted disks. In the line shown in brown, you can name the boot menu entry as you like. Please replace that drive letter with the actual one on your system. If you have no unallocated space for such a new partition, shrink an existing one and create the new partition in the freed-up space.
You can label that partition as you like. When done, create a small partition (at least 1 GB, recommended 2 GB) on any internal hard disk or SSD. Choose where to save the ISO, and click Build (click screenshot to open it enlarged in a new tab): Select Create Rescue Media from Other Tasks menu to open Macrium Reflect Media Builder, select ISO file. Macrium Reflect allows you to choose if you want to create a rescue USB drive, an ISO file, or a Windows boot menu entry to launch Macrium rescue from a RAM disk at boot. When Reflect is installed, the next thing you should do is to create rescue media. In this post, I will show how to create it to make it easy to restore Windows after a system crash, or when you need to restore an earlier backup for any other reason. After a clean install of Windows, having installed Reflect, I always create a small bootable Macrium Reflect Rescue partition.
